The Festus Tigers will be playing at home against the Farmington Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Festus will be strutting in after a victory while Farmington will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Friday, Festus was fully in charge, breezing past Pacific 49-13 at home. The win made it back-to-back wins for Festus.
Hayden Bates was on fire: he rushed for 240 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. Bates was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 66 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Edwards, who rushed for 108 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries.
Meanwhile, Farmington ended up a good deal behind Poplar Bluff on Friday and lost 28-14. That means Farmington has now suffered back-to-back defeats.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kaesen Mcclain, who rushed for 69 yards and a touchdown.
Festus is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Farmington, their loss on Friday dropped their record down to 4-3.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's match: Festus has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 256 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Farmington struggles in that department as they've been averaging 225.6 per game. It's looking like Friday's contest might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Everything went Festus' way against Farmington in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as Festus made off with a 41-20 victory. Will Festus repeat their success, or does Farmington have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
