Tioga is 5-0 against the Mustangs since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Tioga Indians will be playing at home against the Rapides Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 64-32, which was the final score in Tioga's tilt against the Patriots on Tuesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tioga in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, Rapides unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They suffered a tough 51-28 loss at the hands of Avoyelles Charter. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Rapides has scored all season.
Despite their defeat, Rapides saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Antwon Jones, who scored eight points along with four steals, was perhaps the best of all. Jones hasn't dropped below four steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Zayveian Johnson, who scored ten points.
Tioga dropped their record down to 17-13 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Rapides, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-10.
Everything came up roses for Tioga against the Mustangs in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 44-9 victory. Will Tioga repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
