It was a good run, but the Towers Titans unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They were dealt a 91-52 defeat at the hands of Columbia. Towers has struggled against Columbia recently, as their matchup on Friday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Titans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cornelius Wiinfrey, who scored 12 points. Mekyrius Miller was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Towers' defeat dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Columbia, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
Towers will head out on the road to face off against Chamblee at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Chamblee knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six games -- so hopefully Towers likes a good challenge. As for Columbia, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Redan at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Redan will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 436th, while Columbia is ranked 19th).
