The Dakota Ridge Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 67-30 loss at the hands of D'Evelyn. Dakota Ridge was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-12.
When it comes to explaining why Dakota Ridge lost, one person who can't be blamed is Maryn Talyat. Despite the final result, she scored eight points along with five assists and two steals. Talyat hasn't dropped below two steals for 14 straight games.
Leading D'Evelyn to victory were Peyton Marvel and Macy Scheer. Marvel dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds, while Scheer scored 29 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Scheer has scored all season. Ingrid Dalla was another key contributor, scoring six points along with four steals.
Dakota Ridge's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-11. As for D'Evelyn, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 17-2.
Dakota Ridge will look to defend their home court on Friday against Pomona at 6:00 p.m. Dakota Ridge is facing Pomona at the right time seeing as Pomona is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for D'Evelyn, they will head out on the road to take on Green Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Green Mountain is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
