The biggest upset of the week belonged to Clovis West, who took down 245th ranked Clovis West, 20-16. Tyler Fry threw for 89 yards and two touchdowns and ran for one yards in the win.
Buchanan moved up to 229 from 297 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Tri-River. The Bears were able to make the jump by beating the Golden Eagles 20-16.
Buchanan's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Billy East chipped in 84 yards. Aaron Arruda helped Buchanan's passing attack out by catching two balls for 29 yards.
Scott Sakamoto was the best wideout in the league this week as Mike Vogt's team beat Clovis West. Sakamoto tallied three receptions for 58 yards.
Jake Gatewood provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Clovis topped Central. He completed 11 passes for 94 yards and also ran for four yards. Gatewood's favorite target this week was Logan Poisall, who caught three passes for 41 yards.
Buchanan's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bears feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Fry has thrown for 1489 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Sakamoto has 36 catches for 390 yards. East leads the league in rushing with 567 yards.
Two of the top units in Tri-River will face off this week when the Bears take on the Cougars. Buchanan's offense has scored 171 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while Clovis has allowed only 81 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Clovis North takes on the Grizzlies. The Broncos are currently in first, while Central is in third.
There should be lots of points scored when Rich Hammond's team and the Bears face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Cougars comes in having scored 144 this season, while Buchanan has scored 171. Clovis scored 15 points last week as it beat Justin Garza's team.
Clovis North extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Clovis East, 40-0. The victory was the seventh in a row for Cory Hall's team.
