Mead suffered their biggest loss since December 29, 2023 on Thursday. They were outmatched by Tekamah-Herman at home and fell 59-15. Mead was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-1.
Lyons-Decatur Northeast's defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-12. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.3 points per game. As for Mead, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-15.
Everything came up roses for Lyons-Decatur Northeast against Mead when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 54-25 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lyons-Decatur Northeast since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
