At the plate, Carmichaels let Robbie Wilson-Jones and Dillon Fisher run wild. Wilson-Jones went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Fisher went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those two runs gave Fisher a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nathan Dursa, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI.
Carmichaels always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Uniontown only posted an OBP of .261.
Meanwhile, Avella was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-6 heartbreaker at the hands of Greensburg Central Catholic.
Carmichaels is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Avella, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4.
