After a string of three wins, the Lovejoy Leopards's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell to Alamo Heights 46-42.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Alamo Heights to victory, but perhaps none more so than Berkley Hart, who scored 23 points along with 6 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Hart has scored at least 25% of Alamo Heights' points. Talaiyah Andrews was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Lovejoy's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Alamo Heights, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.
Lovejoy will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Village at 9:20 a.m. on December 2nd. Village is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.6 points per game. As for Alamo Heights, they will take on Fort Bend Elkins at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Fort Bend Elkins will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 536th, while Alamo Heights is ranked 169th).
