Caprock Academy is on a four-game streak of home losses, Rangely an 11-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The Caprock Academy Eagles will take on the Rangely Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Caprock Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Thursday, Caprock Academy came up short against Green River and fell 55-45. While losing is never fun, Caprock Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 298th in Colorado, while Green River is ranked 112th in Utah).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Zach Jordan, who scored nine points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Tristin Bird, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Rangely had to suffer through a rough 58-31 loss at the hands of Vail Mountain. Rangely has not had much luck with Vail Mountain recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Caprock Academy has not been sharp recently as the team has lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Rangely, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 4-13.
