Buckfield is a perfect 6-0 against St. Dominic since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Bucks will look to defend their home field against the Saints at 4:00 p.m. Buckfield is coming into the game hot, having won their last 13 games.
St. Dominic's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Friday: Buckfield hadn't allowed a single run the last four times they've hit the field. The Bucks never let Wiscasset get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory on Wednesday. The Bucks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by six runs or more this season.

Carmen Crockett and Sophie St.Pierre made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Crockett pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, St.Pierre pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (three). At the plate, Crockett went 2-for-4 with four RBI, while St.Pierre went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. St.Pierre is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.
In other batting news, Cora Brewster was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Amelia Hill was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, St. Dominic's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Fryeburg by a score of 13-12.
Piper Croteau made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Leah Shannon, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Buckfield pushed their record up to 13-1 with the win, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for St. Dominic, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Buckfield hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .352. However, it's not like St. Dominic struggles in that department as they've averaged .376. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Buckfield's way against St. Dominic in their previous meeting back in June of 2024, as Buckfield made off with a 15-1 win. Will the Bucks repeat their success, or do the Saints have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
