Baseball Recap: The Meadows School Comes Up Short

The Meadows School fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Boulder City on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 5-4. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 8-7.

Killian Seip was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off ten hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

In other batting news, Connor McGill was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Ethan Schneiderman, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

The Meadows School's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 13-10. As for Boulder City, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-10.

Coming up, The Meadows School will challenge Pahrump Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Trojans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Boulder City, they will face off against Sports Leadership & Management at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
