The Frankfort Hot Dogs struggled with offensive rebounds on Thursday (the Danville Warriors had 11 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Frankfort took a hard 67-49 fall against the Warriors. While losing is never fun, Frankfort can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while the Warriors are ranked 34th).
Several Hot Dogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alex Farley, who scored 18 points along with five steals. That was a full 36.7% of Frankfort's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kye Kirby, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Danville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zachary Waits, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and five blocks. Evan Lawrence was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 17 rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Frankfort and nudges their season record down to 8-9. As for Danville, they pushed their record up to 16-1 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.
Frankfort will head out on the road to take on the Bison at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Benton Central will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Danville, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Knights at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th. Hopefully Northview focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Thursday.
