Basketball Recap: Thursday's Loss Ends Hampton Christian Academy's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Hampton Christian Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 66-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Norfolk Christian Ambassadors. While the Warriors didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Ambassadors 17-11 in the first quarter.

Despite the defeat, Hampton Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Bryce Harris posted 22 points. Another player making a difference was Asher Joyce, who had 12 points.

Norfolk Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Connor Holmes led the charge by dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards. What's more, Holmes also racked up three assists, the most he's had since back in January. Landon McNamara was another key player, putting up 15 points and five assists.

Hampton Christian Academy now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Norfolk Christian, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Hampton Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 64-24 win against Summit Christian Academy on the 9th. As for Norfolk Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-30 victory against StoneBridge on the 6th.
