Heartland Lutheran has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Palmer Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Heartland Lutheran is ranked 250th, while the Tigers are ranked 261st).
Heartland Lutheran scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They breezed by Elba at home to the tune of 65-28. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Heartland Lutheran had established a 28 point advantage.
Heartland Lutheran's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brielle Saddler, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Ella Francl was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 11 rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Palmer had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They managed a 48-43 win over Hampton.
Heartland Lutheran's record now sits at 7-11. Palmer's record is now 7-8.
Things could have been worse for Heartland Lutheran, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 46-31 loss to the Tigers in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Heartland Lutheran avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
