04/05/25 @ Andrew Jackson | 6 |
03/21/25 @ Greenwood | 5 |
Emma Williams 2027 spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Izzy Webb 2028, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kylie Wilson 2026, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Easley narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Greenwood 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Green Wave.
Jalyn McGee made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. McGee was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.
In other batting news, Olivia Merck was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.
T.L. Hanna's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Easley, their record is now 5-7.
Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. T.L. Hanna hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .346. However, it's not like Easley struggles in that department as they've averaged .339. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
T.L. Hanna skirted past Easley 7-6 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Yellow Jackets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
