The Horizon Science Academy Dragons will head out on the road to square off against Grand River Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Horizon Science Academy is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Horizon Science Academy was beaten by the Patriots 82-42.
Even though Grand River Academy has not done well against the Royals recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Everything went Grand River Academy's way against the Royals as the made off with a 67-45 win. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-12.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Grand River Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Filip Runjo, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Giorgi Nikolaevi, who scored 17 points.
Horizon Science Academy has not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Grand River Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.
Horizon Science Academy came up short against the in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 58-51. Can Horizon Science Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
