The Carlinville Cavaliers were the 46-42 winner over the Staunton Bulldogs when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Carlinville took a 58-39 bruising from Staunton on Friday. Carlinville has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Cavaliers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dom Alepra, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Camden Naugle, who scored nine points.
Carlinville has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for Staunton, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season.
Carlinville on the road again on Tuesday and play against Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Lutheran is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Staunton, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Greenfield/Northwestern at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Greenfield/Northwestern focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Tuesday.
