Baseball Recap: Clover Garden School Beats Triangle Math & Science for Their Fifth Straight Win

Clover Garden School extended their winning streak to five on Monday, bumping their season record up to 8-9 in the process. They came out on top against the Triangle Math & Science Tigers by a score of 16-11. With that victory, the Grizzlies brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Gavin Phillips was excellent, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That double was his first of the season. Kam Foster was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs.

Clover Garden School always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .565. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

As for Triangle Math & Science, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-9. On the bright side, the 11- run effort marked their highest-scoring matchup to date.

On Triangle Math & Science's side, Aayan Subzwari put in work while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. That one hit allowed gave Subzwari a new career-low. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Subzwari wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Rehaan Subzwari, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one double.

Clover Garden School didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-1 loss against Chatham Charter on the 22nd. As for Triangle Math & Science, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 12-1 win against Southern Wake Academy on the 24th.
