On Wednesday, the Bell Griffins faced the Anacostia Indians in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The New Year welcomed Bell with a 47-14 whooping from Anacostia. Bell can't seem to catch a break and have yet to win any of their five games.
Anacostia's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nayjah Duvall, who scored 15 points along with three steals. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Duvall has scored at least 25% of Anacostia's points. Ta'shaun Robinson was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds.
Bell's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Anacostia, they pushed their record up to 9-4 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Bell will take on KIPP College Prep at 5:30 p.m. on January 12th. As for Anacostia, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Eastern at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in District of Columbia (Eastern is ranked first, while Anacostia is ranked fourth).
