The Riverside Rangers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bowie Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Riverside's strategy against the Lions on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Riverside blew the Lions out of the water with a 57-27 final score. Riverside pushed the score to 44-23 by the end of the third, a deficit the Lions had little chance of recovering from.
Derek Vasquez and Richard Arellano were among the main playmakers for Riverside as the former scored 12 points and the latter scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlos D Rojas, who scored seven points.
Meanwhile, Bowie came tearing into Tuesday's contest with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 60-44 victory over Harmony Science Academy.
Riverside has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-16 record this season. As for Bowie, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-9.
Riverside beat the Bears 51-44 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Will Riverside repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
