Mountain View had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They breezed by Clint on the road to the tune of 65-29. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Mountain View has posted yet this season.
Mountain View relied on the efforts of Devin Gonzalez, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds, and Julian Escobedo, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Gonzalez pulled down eight or more rebounds. Matthew Slosar was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Riverside's strategy against Anthony on Friday. Riverside came out on top against Anthony by a score of 63-56. The win made it back-to-back wins for Riverside.
Among those leading the charge was Richard Arellano, who scored 23 points. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Marcus Jauregui, who scored 11 points.
Mountain View's win bumped their record up to 7-17. As for Riverside, their win bumped their record up to 8-15.
