Refugio scaled the state rankings by moving to 124 from 209 this week, the biggest jump in 2A-2 Region IV District 16. The Bobcats were able to move up by besting Rogers 73-72.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Refugio beat the Eagles 73-72. The victory was the 10th in a row for Jason Herring's team.
5-foot-10 quarterback Travis Quintanilla of the Bobcats is the league leader in passing yards this season with 3,541. He has also thrown 50 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Ronnie Ocanas. The Banquete star has 6 catches for 147 yards.
Refugio and Rogers played the most contested game in the league this week, with Refugio eventually emerging with a 73-72 victory.
