Isle of Wight Academy made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,548 from 10,220. The improvement came about via a 48-16 victory over Atlantic Shores Christian last week.
The Chargers' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brandon Saxby threw for 143 and two touchdowns and Gage Rogers had 96 yards receiving. On the ground Matt Brummett chipped in 80 yards. Jackson Goodman helped Isle of Wight Academy's passing attack out by catching six balls for 93 yards.
Mason Phipps provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Kenston Forest fell to Roanoke Catholic. He completed seven passes for 113 yards and also ran for 42 yards. Phipps' favorite target this week was Jabaaru Wright, who caught two passes for 43 yards.
6-foot-0 quarterback Saxby of Isle of Wight Academy is the league leader in passing yards this season with 833. He has also thrown 16 touchdowns. On the ground, Brunswick Academy's Charles Belmonte has rushed for 1428 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Sam Drewicz. The Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot star has 18 catches for 389 yards.
Dale Chapman's team's Brummett is a mere 40 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. Brummett has rushed for 960 yards on 115 carries so far this year.
The Chargers led the league in scoring this week after putting up 48 points on the Seahawks. Saxby in the win.
