The Hodgeman County Longhorns lost to the Trego Golden Eagles back in December of 2020, but the Hodgeman County Longhorns didn't allow the Trego Golden Eagles the same satisfaction on Tuesday. Hodgeman County strolled past Trego with points to spare, taking the game 50-34. The win made it back-to-back wins for Hodgeman County.
Hodgeman County can attribute much of their success to Owen Reece, who shot 4-for-7 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 25 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Reece has scored at least 25% of Hodgeman County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hazen Rydquist, who scored 7 points along with 3 steals.
Hodgeman County's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Trego, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Hodgeman County will head out on the road to face off against Ness City at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Trego, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Victoria at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Victoria focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday.
