After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ropes, The Morton Indians were happy to have found some success on Friday. Everything went their way against Smyer as Morton made off with a 29-6 victory. The result was nothing new for Morton, who have now won four contests by 23 points or more so far this season.
Morton's win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 5-3. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-8 Crosbyton and 0-7 Tornillo (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 6.7% over those games). As for Smyer, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Morton will square off against New Home at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. New Home will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line. As for Smyer, they will head out on the road to face off against Seagraves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
