Gig Harbor took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 60-22 victory over River Ridge. With Gig Harbor ahead 31-9 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gig Harbor to victory, but perhaps none more so than Willow Bonnici, who scored eight points along with 18 rebounds and two steals. Bonnici hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Kaliyah Miller was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with four steals.
Gig Harbor is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for River Ridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gig Harbor on the road again on Friday and play against Central Kitsap at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Central Kitsap comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for River Ridge, they will head out on the road to challenge North Thurston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Thurston will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
