Northridge is 0-10 against Newark Catholic since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Northridge Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the Newark Catholic Green Wave at 7:15 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Northridge has struggled recently with five losses in a row, while Newark Catholic will arrive with 19 straight wins.
Last Friday, Northridge came up short against Johnstown-Monroe and fell 45-36. Northridge has struggled against Johnstown-Monroe recently, as their matchup on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Ava Travis, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ruby Cermak, who scored five points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Newark Catholic can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Saturday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 60-18 win over Heath. Newark Catholic pushed the score to 43-13 by the end of the third, a deficit Heath had little chance of recovering from.
Northridge's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Newark Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 19-0.
Things could have been worse for Northridge, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 54-40 loss to Newark Catholic in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Northridge avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
