The Jefferson County Tigers pushed their score all the way to 67 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 85-67 fall against Taylor County. Jefferson County has not had much luck with Taylor County recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Taylor County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Louis Gaddy Jr., who scored 23 points along with nine rebounds. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Allen Collier, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds.
Jefferson County's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-4-1. As for Taylor County, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jefferson County will be home for the holidays to greet Crossroad Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Crossroad Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Jefferson County in Florida (Crossroad Academy is ranked 227th, while Jefferson County is ranked 689th). Taylor County will be home for the holidays to greet Madison County at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Madison County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
