Baseball Recap: Bradford Has No Trouble Against Middleton

Bradford won the last time they faced Middleton and things went their way on Monday too. The Red Devils blew past the Tigers 14-4. Considering the Red Devils have won six games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Dylan Brauer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Jax Richardson was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Bradford's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 7-3 (and 4-5 when he doesn't). Carver Cates was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Bradford kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Bradford's win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Middleton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Bradford will have a chance to go back-to-back against Middleton: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
