The Hunt Warriors were the 59-43 winner over the C.B. Aycock Golden Falcons when they last played one another on January 2nd, but their luck changed this time around. Hunt took a 33-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of C.B. Aycock on Friday. Hunt has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Hunt's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ti'asia Taylor, who scored 11 points along with three steals. Taylor is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Gracelynn Wolzen was another key contributor, scoring two points along with seven rebounds.
C.B. Aycock's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bree Jones, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds. Jones has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Simone Hall, who scored six points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Hunt's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-10. As for C.B. Aycock, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-11.
Hunt will head out on the road to challenge Smithfield-Selma at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for C.B. Aycock, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against East Wake at 6:00 p.m. East Wake and C.B. Aycock are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads.
