The Davis Darts will face off against the Riverton Silverwolves at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are still undefeated (Davis has seven wins , while Riverton has 12 dating back to last season).
Davis is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Bear River, who was ranked tenth at the time (Davis was ranked second). The Darts blew past the Bears 7-1 on Wednesday. The Darts might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by six runs or more this season.
Serena Roth and Cambell Christensen were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Roth struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Christensen didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up a single earned run in six consecutive appearances. At the plate, Roth went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI, while Christensen went 3-for-4 with one double. That's the most hits Christensen has posted since back in May of 2025.
In other batting news, Norah Sunderland was a standout: she went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Chloe Peery was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Davis kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bear River only managed four.
Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Riverton ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-1 win over Copper Hills. Those six runs were actually the fewest the Silverwolves have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
Peyton Sanchez spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on eight hits and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, Riverton saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaydan Bushman, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
Riverton's victory bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Davis, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Davis hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .348. However, it's not like Riverton struggles in that department as they've averaged .444. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Davis might still be hurting after the 14-4 loss they got from Riverton in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Darts have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
