The Webster County Trojans lost against the Daviess County Panthers back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Webster County fell 62-51 to the Panthers. While losing is never fun, Webster County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 210th, while the Panthers are ranked 25th).
Daviess County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kennedy Lane, who scored 17 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Briley Henry, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Webster County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Daviess County, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 16-5.
Webster County will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Braves at 6:00 p.m. As for Daviess County, they will head out on the road to face off against the Aces at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Owensboro Catholic is on a three-game streak of home wins, the Panthers a seven-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
