The Providence Athletic Cluv Panthers had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38.7 points), and they went ahead and made it ten on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Coastal HomeSchool 89-12 on the road. The result was nothing new for Providence Athletic Cluv, who have now won eight games by 22 points or more so far this season.
Providence Athletic Cluv's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jance Lamb, who rushed for 149 yards and four touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also threw for 65 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Cameron Youmans was another key contributor, rushing for 156 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries.
Although Coastal HomeSchool took the loss, they still got scores from Hunter Guthrie and Logan Wood.
Providence Athletic Cluv's victory was their ninth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 10-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Coastal HomeSchool, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Providence Athletic Cluv will square off against Cross Episcopal at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cross Episcopal comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Coastal HomeSchool, they will head out on the road to face off against Augusta Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Augusta Eagles is ranked 12th, while Coastal HomeSchool is ranked 27th).
