After four games on the road, East Lincoln is heading back home. They will take on the North Iredell Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. East Lincoln knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten matchups -- so hopefully North Iredell likes a good challenge.
Last Friday, East Lincoln didn't have too much trouble with St. Stephens on the road as they won 69-53.
East Lincoln's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Christian Atkins, who scored 12 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Atkins hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Jackson Fannon, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, North Iredell pushed their score all the way to 58 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 63-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Statesville. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for North Iredell in their matchups with Statesville: they've now lost three in a row.
East Lincoln's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-9. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 82.3 points per game. As for North Iredell, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.
East Lincoln strolled past North Iredell in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 83-64. Does East Lincoln have another victory up their sleeve, or will North Iredell turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
