The Oceana Sharks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 66-46 loss at the hands of Capuchino. Oceana has not had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Leading Capuchino to victory were Dermott Philpott and Isaiah Cruz. Philpott scored 19 points, while Cruz scored 16 points along with four steals and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Philpott has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Ronquillo, who scored seven points along with four steals.
Oceana's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Capuchino, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oceana will take on the Ravens at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Capuchino, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Vikings at 7:45 p.m. on February 2nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in California (Mills is ranked 876th, while the Mustangs are ranked 856th).
