Southwestern recap November 5, 2013
Brecksville-Broadview Heights added to the longest winning streak in Southwestern this week by beating Westlake, 39-14. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Steele lost to Avon Lake 42-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Derek Eibon was a bright spot for the Comets, as he ran for 51 yards and caught 2 passes for 22 yards in the defeat.
Steele's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Justin Mott threw for 64 yards and Joe D'Andrea had 42 yards receiving. On the ground Eibon chipped in 51 yards. Eibon helped Steele's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 22 yards.
Mott put up the best numbers in passing as Chad DiFranco's team fell to the Shoremen. Mott's favorite target this week was D'Andrea, who caught 2 passes for 42 yards.
Steele's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Comets feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Anthony Eliopoulos has thrown for 546 yards and 4 touchdowns this season, while D'Andrea has 34 catches for 372 yards.
Avon Lake led the league in scoring this week by notching 42 points on the Comets.
