The Chittenango Bears pushed their score all the way to 72 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 76-72 hit to the loss column at the hands of Johnson City. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Thursday (58), Chittenango still had to take the loss.
When it comes to explaining why Chittenango lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ryan Moesch. Despite the final result, he scored 34 points along with nine assists and three steals. Moesch scored a full 47.2% of Chittenango's points, the 11th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brendon Barnard, who scored seven points.
Chittenango's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Johnson City, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chittenango will take on Christian Brothers Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Johnson City will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Binghamton at 7:15 p.m. on January 9th.
