Basketball Recap: Augusta Prep Day Snags Tenth Victory in Last 13 Games

Augusta Prep Day extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Elijah McFadgen. The Augusta Prep Day Cavaliers blew past the Edmund Burke Academy Spartans 80-48 on Tuesday thanks in part to McFadgen, who went 10 for 23 on his way to 33 points and six steals. Those 33 points gave him a new career-high.

The team also got some help courtesy of Canye Walker, who posted 12 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played.

Edmund Burke Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Blake Reddick, who earned 13 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Mark Wasden, who put up nine points and six boards.

Augusta Prep Day is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points per game. As for Edmund Burke Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-6.

Augusta Prep Day has already played their next matchup, a 71-34 victory against Thomas Jefferson Academy on the 30th. As for Edmund Burke Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 47-45 loss against Monsignor Donovan Catholic on the 29th.
