This season hasn't been kind to the Woodson Warriors, who are still winless after their sixth match. They took a 51-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Banneker on Wednesday. Woodson has not had much luck with Banneker recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Leading Banneker to victory were Jeremiah Shelton and Doran Clausell. Shelton scored 11 points along with six steals and five assists, while Clausell dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Clausell has scored at least 25% of Banneker's points. Another player making a difference was Justin Cave, who scored seven points.
Woodson bumped their record down to 0-6 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Banneker, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Bell the next time they take the court. Banneker will host Bell at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, while Woodson will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
