3A Region 2 Top Player Performances of the Week
Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances from Friday's football action (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!
Jaden Martin Crosses Big Stat Threshold
Starting off the list is Atkins's Jaden Martin, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Martin rushed for 132 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and also picked up 32 receiving yards. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (103.7). He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack, forcing a fumble, and making nine total tackles (4.0 for loss).
Martin and Atkins will challenge Melbourne at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Red Devils had to take a loss when they last met the Bearkatz, but Martin had little to do with the loss: he rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown. Can he match (or beat) that performance?

Braiden Riley Crosses Big Stat Threshold
On Friday, Quitman got the W thanks in part to Braiden Riley playing the best football he has all season. Riley picked up two sacks, forced a fumble, and made nine total tackles (6.0 for loss). Thanks to that strong showing, he's now averaging 5.3 total tackles per game. He is becoming a predictor of Quitman's success: when he posts at least two sacks the team is 2-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't).
This year, Riley has averaged 5.3 total tackles per game and for the season has 5 sacks.
