Softball Recap: East Bay's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

There's no place like home for East Bay, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They blew past the Freedom Patriots 15-4 on Thursday. Considering the Indians have won seven matchups by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Karsen Nelson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Nelson was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Jensen Nelson was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, five runs, and two stolen bases. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. Kamiira Austin was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

East Bay was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .531. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

With the victory, East Bay broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-12. As for Freedom, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-12.

East Bay didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 17-7 defeat against Wharton on the 15th. As for Freedom, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 15-10 loss against Blake on the 15th.
