The Eleanor McMain Mustangs will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy Swamp Owls at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Saturday, Eleanor McMain came up short against the Raiders and fell 57-47. While losing is never fun, Eleanor McMain can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while the Raiders are ranked 34th).
Meanwhile, Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight defeat. They took a 64-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Booker T. Washington.
Despite the defeat, Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy got a solid performance out of Christian Rogan, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. Rogan hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Hubbard, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.
Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-3) when they can't control their own glass like that.
Eleanor McMain has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season. As for Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-17.
Everything came up roses for Eleanor McMain against the Swamp Owls when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 72-27 victory. Does Eleanor McMain have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Swamp Owls turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
