Football Game Preview: Kinston Vikings vs. Beddingfield Bruins

The Kinston Vikings will square off against the Beddingfield Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kinston is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 34.9 points per game this season.

Beddingfield better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Kinston's game on Friday is any indication, that's when Kinston really gets things going. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 55-32 margin over Farmville Central. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now won four in a row.

Kinston's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tyler Jones led the charge by throwing for 393 yards and six TDs while completing 78.1% of his passes. Thanks to that big game, Jones is now up to 25 passing touchdowns on the season. Kinston's leading receiver Tyreek Copper was Jones' top target yet again, picking up 175 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Beddingfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Tarboro 55-0. While losing is never fun, the Bruins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 340th, while the Vikings are ranked 40th).

Beddingfield's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Kinston, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
