The Escalante Moquis had to endure a ten-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Freedom Prep Academy 56-18 on the road. Escalante's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Escalante got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mccall Dunton out in front who scored 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dunton has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Mazee Dunton, who scored 13 points.
Escalante's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-11. As for Freedom Prep Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-16 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Escalante won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Utah Military Academy - Camp Williams at 3:00 p.m. on January 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Utah Military Academy - Camp Williams is ranked 126th, while Escalante is ranked 116th). As for Freedom Prep Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Intermountain Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
