Basketball Recap: Joppatowne Has No Trouble Against Patapsco

Joppatowne lost to Patapsco back in December of 2022, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Joppatowne Mariners blew past the Patapsco Patriots 67-47. The Mariners have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 20 points or more this season.

Kishann Smith continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds. He has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Anthony Council, who posted 13 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Joppatowne smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive contests.

Joppatowne's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Patapsco, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Joppatowne wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 61-54 win against Perryville on the 17th. As for Patapsco, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 79-37 loss against North Harford on the 16th.
