The Velva/Drake/Anamoose Aggies are taking a road trip to square off against the Nedrose Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Velva/Drake/Anamoose will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
Velva/Drake/Anamoose's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against South Prairie/Max as they made off with a 17-0 win. Considering the Aggies have won five contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Emma Balas made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Balas was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
In other batting news, Velva/Drake/Anamoose let Quincy Bruner and Jenna Lohnes run wild. Bruner went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs, while Lohnes went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That double was Lohnes' first of the season. Fallon Hudkins was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Velva/Drake/Anamoose always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .641. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .559 or higher in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Nedrose fell victim to Washburn and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against Washburn, falling 7-0. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, Nedrose's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Having lost for the first time this season, Nedrose fell to 5-1. As for Velva/Drake/Anamoose, their record now sits at 6-0.
Everything went Velva/Drake/Anamoose's way against Nedrose in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Velva/Drake/Anamoose made off with a 12-5 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Aggies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
