Spruce Mountain has gone a perfect 5-0 against Lisbon recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Phoenix are taking a road trip to face off against the Greyhounds at 4:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
On Monday, Spruce Mountain made easy work of Waterville and carried off a 17-1 win.
Rylee Turner made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Santika Hodgkin was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Hodgkin is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Kenley Bruen, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Spruce Mountain was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Lisbon put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let Winslow get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Greyhounds, who have now won three games by 11 runs or more so far this season.
Mackenzie Eaton made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Eaton was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Lisbon got a massive performance out of Brook Norman, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Aubriana Bright was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Lisbon pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Spruce Mountain, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Spruce Mountain took their win against Lisbon in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 14-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Phoenix since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
