Indian Creek hasn't had much luck against Martinsville recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Braves will host the Artesians at 5:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Indian Creek has six straight wins, Martinsville has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Indian Creek hadn't beaten Brownstown Central on the road since April 27, 2019 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. Indian Creek came out on top against Brownstown Central by a score of 5-1.

Delaney Jones spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Kristen Soots was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one run and one double. Addie Schaub was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Roncalli hit Martinsville with a four-run sixth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Artesians fell 8-5 to the Royals.
Martinsville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Massey-Deckard, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-4.
Indian Creek's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Martinsville, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.
Martinsville's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Indian Creek has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.4 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Martinsville, though, as they've been averaging only 3.3 strikeouts. Will Indian Creek keep running through batters, or will the Artesians buck the trend?
Indian Creek couldn't quite finish off Martinsville in their previous meeting back in May of 2023 and fell 4-2. Will the Braves have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
