The Bexley Lions were the 51-40 winner over the Bishop Hartley Hawks when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Bexley took a 40-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bishop Hartley on Saturday.
Bishop Hartley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Miah Smith led the charge by scoring 10 points along with 6 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Eva McKnight, who scored 7 points along with 8 rebounds.
Bexley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Bishop Hartley, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Bexley will head out on the road to face off against St. Francis DeSales at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bishop Hartley, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Worthington Christian at 7:30 p.m.
