Escalon took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They blew past the Bret Harte Bullfrogs 16-2. The Cougars have beaten the Bullfrogs the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bullfrogs has come to flipping the script.
Kyla Holback made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Holback was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Lauryn Siegel looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Tenley Adams was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Kaylynn McCutcheon, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and two runs.
